Personal savings account
Maritime & Merchant Bank offers a savings account with a competitive interest rate, without any fixed term, for private individuals only.
The interest rate is variable and is capitalized annually on January 1st. We do not offer fixed interest rate.
You must be over 18 years and have a Norwegian national identity number and BankID.
Both the account and online banking access are free of charge. This is a fully digital bank where you manage everything yourself online.
There are 11 free withdrawals per calendar year. There is no requirement to give notice before making a withdrawal.
We only offer one account per customer.
We do not offer business accounts. Any offer regarding savings accounts for the business market will be announced on Fixrate.no.
You can only open an account for yourself. It is not permitted to share your BankID with others.
Application for a savings account is submitted electronically through our website.
Deposits are made using both the account number and KID number. You will find these after logging in to the online bank.
The bank is a member of the Norwegian Banks’ Guarantee Fund, which guarantees all customers’ deposits up to two million Norwegian kroner. For more information, please read about the Guarantee at the Norwegian Banks’ Guarantee Fund.
Your deposit and all information about your account are easily accessible through the online bank.
Communication between the customer and the bank is done electronically via secure messaging through the netbank.
